Kickoff for the cycling season with new members
Spring brings three new members to our platform, each with their own expertise to help improve cycling in Austria and the range of bicycles available: JobRad Austria brings knowledge of good company bike solutions from Germany, Radverteiler offers a smart sharing solution for e-bikes and bicycles of all kinds, and Salzburg Research focuses on active mobility research. With these additions, we have now reached the round number of 30 members!

How high is the quality of bike paths? How can collisions be avoided and bike paths be designed in challenging traffic situations? Salzburg Research addresses these and many other questions. For 20 years, the independent research institute has been researching active mobility, intelligent transport systems, and automated driving. Two research groups also deal with technical, socioeconomic, and psychological aspects of cycling. Salzburg Research has been working with other Cycle Competence members such as the Mobility Lab of the University of Salzburg, con.sens mobility design and the City of Salzburg for many years.

Sharing solutions from Graz
The online platform Radverteiler enables the renting and borrowing of (e-)cargo bikes as well as conventional bicycles. The handover is done in person or via the unique Smart Rental Box: thus, e-bikes can be picked up, charged, and returned around the clock. Over a hundred cargo bikes are represented on the platform, and the rental box is used by cycling competence members such as Radland Niederösterreich and the city of Salzburg, as well as in the city of Graz and other communities from Pinkafeld to Wolfsberg.

Company bike know-how from Germany
JobRad Austria makes bicycles and e-bikes company bikes. With a digital portal solution, JobRad organizes the leasing and transfer of company bikes between employers and their employees. Since 2021, the German company has had a team in Vienna that is passionate about getting people cycling.
