Mobility Center Burgenland

Climate-friendly mobility is an important topic in Burgenland. The Burgenland Mobility Center is the central point of contact for all issues relating to public transport and a regional service point for climate-friendly mobility. As a competence center for the implementation of EU mobility projects, the Mobility Center Burgenland deals with the promotion and expansion of regional and cross-border transport, as well as the promotion of climate-friendly transport in tourism.

Burgenland is known for its well-developed tourist cycle routes and cycling in everyday life is also becoming increasingly popular. Burgenland is set to become the number one cycling region in Austria. To this end, the state of Burgenland is investing a total of 25 million euros in around 350 projects that will massively improve the state’s cycle network. Alongside the construction measures, the “Radfreude” brand has been developed to raise awareness.

Burgenlanders should feel like cycling and use their bikes more often. As the most communicative means of transport, cycling brings people together and makes the town more lively. There is also the sustainability aspect: the more journeys are made by bike, the better it is for health and the climate. The Radfreude KonzertTour was launched in 2022 as the starting signal for this campaign: Throughout the country, the tour was met with great approval from the public. A wave of cycling joy swept through the country!
