Cycling summit with 10th anniversary of Cycle Competence

The Cycle Competence Austria platform is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! Founded in 2014 by a group of innovative players in the cycling sector, our platform now has around 30 member companies and supporting members. Knowledge transfer and networking in the service of improving the quality of Austrian cycling is our mission statement, and international activities as the Austrian Cycling Embassy and member of Cycling Knowledge Europe also contribute to this. The most prominent congratulator at the celebrations at the Cycling Summit was Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler.

At the Austrian Cycling Summit, which took place in Wiener Neustadt from April 16 to 17, 2024, Cycle Competence members hosted a drink in the Expo Area to mark the occasion and organized a competition. Follow us on a photo journey to the bike summit!

The cycling summit featured numerous exciting presentations and debates on the large stage of the Kasematten in Wiener Neustadt.

For example, Cycle Competence member Mobility Agency Vienna presented the progress of the cycle path campaign.

Numerous projects were presented in four parallel session rooms, such as the cycling capital certification of Radkompetenz member Radland Niederösterreich.

Speakers from Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary traveled to the international cycling competence to present “The CEE Perspective”: Marko Radosevic, Zoran Bukvic, Michal Sindelar, Mazalica Marko.

Throughout the cycling summit, visitors were able to take part in the “RätselRadRallye” cycling competence treasure hunt. The first 50 completed collector’s passes won a FINN smartphone holder in the Cycle Competence design, and RAINCOMBI rain suits were raffled off among all the correct collector’s passes.

The winners of our RätselRadRallye were drawn at the Radkompetenz stand. Congratulations to one of the lucky RAINCOMBI winners, Ulrich Leth from TU Vienna.

Afterwards, there were cool drinks from the transport bike to celebrate our anniversary.

There was also a competition at our new member Velovio!

And cycling competence member radverteiler was also visited by Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler.

Clear the stage for the most important part of every conference: the evening reception with background discussions and networking. We are already looking forward to the next cycling summit!
